从12世纪开始，泰晤士河以及支流上的野生天鹅都属于王室财产，宰杀其中任何一只都是违法的，每年英国王室还会派人清点天鹅的数量。之前，就有留学生因为企图宰杀食用野生天鹅，导致差点被遣返。
还有搬运大件物品回家犯法。
在伦敦，根据1839年伦敦警察厅法案第54条例规定：在人行道上滚动或者搬动任何木桶，缸，梯子，木板，海报等大型物品，属于违法行为(从路边手推车或者马车上下搬运之类物品除外)最大限度罚款£500，但该条例仅适合于伦敦。
